Maputo FQMA also known as Mavalane International Airport, formerly Lourenço Marques Airport, (IATA: LUM), is an airport located 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) northwest of the center of Maputo, the largest city and capital of Mozambique. It is the largest airport in Mozambique, and hub for LAM Mozambique Airlines and Kaya Airlines. Most of the destinations served by the airport are in Africa, but the most used intercontinental destinations are: Turkish Airlines operating flights to Istanbul, Turkey; Qatar Airways operates flights to Doha, Qatar; and TAP Air Portugal to Lisbon, Portugal. I’ve tried to bring some life to the airport and added lights for the airport buildings, apron, ramp positions, car parks missing jetways and corrected existing jetways (based on sat images) some missing buildings and hangars (based on sat images) a generic tower, but at the correct position Should work with the standard edition, only default assets in use, but make sure you have all world updates installed, just in case … If you find any errors, let me know and send a screenshot. A great airport for a stop while traveling along the Hudson rIver. Like, you know… if it’s late at night during winter and your aircraft ices up… Enhancements Hangars now look closer to real life Parking lot uncovered and fenced off, cars placed Airport perimeter fence installed Night lighting added to hangars Trees removed from infield Small and large ponds in radius near airport masked Large ponds in radius further from airport masked ~30km of prominent creek running west of the airport now masked, including tributary section to Hudson River Aircraft parking now sit over the Ts and face properly Several areas of forest have been filled in better Static aircraft parked on tarmac Ground merging removed from taxiways and runways so underlying taxi lines and runway markings do not bleed through Fixes Displaced threshold for Rwy21 Taxi lines cleaned up and matching aerial photos Taxi lights no longer appear on taxiways Windsocks and beacon are now placed properly Rwy3 PAPI slope angle and position now proper Rwy21 PAPI added and set/positioned proper Building at SW end of airport removed and replace with proper hangar and tarmac Vegetation exclusion removed from runway so trees encroach properly Fuel station is no longer askew Known Issues PAPI placement not exact as ground textures not high res enough to see them but based off aerial photo reference Taxi lighting is MSFS default and it sucks – I can’t manipulate it to a fine level like I could with FSX so lighting spacing and appearance is all over the place. One runway exit has a big gap in the middle although its got the same node placement as the rest soo.. NCRG – Rarotonga International, Cook Islands Rarotonga is the main island in the Cook Range with a population of less than 11.000 , but a very popular tourist desitignation. Hence the airport serve as main gate to this Pacific Paradise with domestic flight to the other islands, and international flights to Los Angeles, Sydney and Auckland. Like in the airports of Skiathos and St. Martin, you get very close to the departing and arriving traffic due to the airports location, and its making it a very special experience. The airport is a handy stopover on a long flight crossing the South Pacific, with ILS/DME procedures to both runways of 2.328 m. lenght. Se the READ_ME File for Chart information. The scenery is created with MSFS SDK and stock object only. Just unzip and put the rcng folder into your community folder. BIGR – Grímsey Airport v1.1
Looking for a challenge? Try out landing here at Grimsey island with the custom-made airport (ICAO: BIGR) and google maps aerial imagery! The island is just north of Iceland so naturally, the airport there presents itself with some difficulty with the wind and sea battering your aircraft from all directions and testing your skills as a pilot. If that’s not enough, the runway is only 23 meters across so being accurate is key. With 105 georeferenced points, you will see that every building is matched up with the real-life one down to the decimeter. This Scenery Is Fully Compatible With Iceland Overhaul by Baddweapon After countless forum posts about how the Grimsey airport or the island as a matter of fact was not available in Microsoft Flight Simulator, I decided to take matters into my own hands and learn from scratch how to create scenery.
