This scenery combines 3 models from the 3D Warehouse all made by NvdK: Oosterscheldekering, Zeeland (3D Warehouse) Oosterscheldekering, Zeeland (Noord) (3D Warehouse) Oosterscheldekering, Zeeland (Zuid) (3D Warehouse) I’ve added lighting to the buildings to make it stand out at night and have also made sure to include the roads as actual roads which means you can land on the kering and AI cars will drive over it as well (although not very straight). This model currently does not include any LOD models, since the models themselves are quite light already. Zwolle – Railway Bridge Hanzeboog (red color) v1.0
Specially for VFR flying Netherlands. Zwolle Landmarks. Hanzeboog The Hanzeboog is a railway bridge near Zwolle over the river IJssel and is part of the Utrecht – Kampen and Lelystad – Zwolle railway line. The bridge was opened in June 2011. Due to the construction of the Hanze line, a new river crossing was needed to replace the old bridge. After a long discussion, a new bridge was chosen instead of a tunnel. The new railway bridge is located at Rhine height, making it easier for shipping to pass and eliminating the need for a movable section. The design is by Quist Wintermans Architekten. The new bridge is located a few tens of meters upstream from the old one and consists of a double track and a cycle path. The railway bridge, which has been given the name Hanzeboog, [1] has a length of 1 kilometer and rests on 18 concrete pillars, which gives the water more space at high water levels. In the weekend of 1 and 2 May 2010, the main span was lifted into place. The bridge was put into use during the Easter weekend of 2011 in the direction Amersfoort – Zwolle. During the following Whitsun weekend, the track for the direction Zwolle – Amersfoort was connected, with which the new bridge was fully put into use from 14 June 2011. [2] On June 10, 2011, the last train passed over the old bridge, with the overhead wires being removed in the following weeks. The demolition of the bridge started on September 12, whereby the pillar on the Hattem side, the lifting wheels of the bridge dating from 1936 and part of the route with underpass on the Zwolle side (with a memorial stone from 1905) were preserved as a monument. [3] [4] The still present ‘first stone’, laid on October 7, 1862 by the Zwolle-born minister Thorbecke, was removed from the abutment to be demolished and walled into the pillar. [5] The restored plaque was unveiled exactly 150 years later, on October 7, 2012. A small part of the old railway embankment is still there. The municipality of Zwolle has created a picnic area on the old railway embankment, which also has a piece of track, including rails. Zwolle – IJsselBridge & New Bridge v1.0
Specially for VFR flying Netherlands. Zwolle Landmarks. IJsselbrug (Zwolle) The IJsselbrug (also known as Katerveerbrug (I)) forms the connection across the IJssel between Zwolle and Hattem. A few hundred meters from this bridge is the Nieuwe IJsselbrug in the A28 and a Hanzeboog on the Utrecht – Zwolle railway line. History Before the IJssel Bridge was created, the connection between the banks was provided by a ferry service, the Katerveer. In 1905, the Commission to bridge the IJssel near the Katerveer was established. The Zwolle mayor I.A. van Roijen pleaded several times in the Senate. 1000 guilders were collected for a first design. The bridge was finally opened in 1930 and the ferry service was discontinued at the same time. In the early morning of May 10, 1940, the main part of the IJssel Bridge was blown up by the Dutch army to slow down the advance of the Germans. The steel arch bridge fell into the water, but the river piers and the embankments were spared. It took almost 3 years to restore the bridge. In January 1943, operation “in its original state” was completed. The wooden deck of the main bridge was replaced by a reinforced concrete version. In 1945 the bridge was blown up for the second time, this time by the German army to make it difficult for the Allied troops to advance further. A Bailey bridge was temporarily constructed by the Allies. On October 4, 1947, the Minister of Public Works and Reconstruction, ir. H. Vos, reopened the IJsselbrug. Working on importing and updating my FSX BWI project into FS2020. Current version is Alpha (NOT COMPLETE). Most of the taxiways have been ported and updated to use the correct IDs. Taxiway surfaces will likely not be properly aligned with markings, this will be fixed soon. Some taxiway surfaces will not be proper materials, I will be updating this once I update the taxiways from circa 2016. The terminal is still the default. I wanted to get all the taxiways and runways working first before working on the building import (probably going to need to completely, re-do this). I am releasing this as an alpha so people can actually use RWY 33L and have proper taxiway names / signs. Once the beta is out I will be soliciting feedback to make sure things are working properly.
