Pietrasanta v1.0
Pietrasanta is a town and comune on the coast of northern Tuscany in Italy, in the province of Lucca. Pietrasanta is part of Versilia, on the last foothills of the Apuan Alps, about 32 kilometres (20 mi) north of Pisa. The town is located 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) off the coast, where the frazione of Marina di Pietrasanta is located. It lies on the main road and rail link from Pisa to Genova, just north of Viareggio. The town has Roman origins and part of the Roman wall still exists. The medieval town was founded in 1255 upon the pre-existing “Rocca di Sala” fortress of the Lombards by Luca Guiscardo da Pietrasanta, from whom it got its name. Pietrasanta was at its height a part of the Republic of Genoa (1316–1328). The town is first mentioned in 1331 in records of Genoa, when it became a part of the Lucca along with the river port of Motrone, and was held until 1430. At that time it passed back to Genoa until 1484, when it was annexed to the Medici held seigniory of Florence. In 1494, Charles VIII of France took control of the town. It remained a Luccan town again until Pope Leo X, a member of the Medici family, gave Pietrasanta back to his family. The town suffered a long period of decline during the 17th and 18th centuries, partially due to malaria. In 1841, Grand Duke Leopold II of Tuscany promoted several reconstruction projects (including the building of schools specially created to teach carving skills, and the reopening of the once famous quarries). The town then became the capital of the Capitanato di Pietrasanta, which included the towns of Forte dei Marmi, Seravezza and Stazzema (this region became the historical heart of Versilia). The town joined the newly unified Italian Kingdom in 1861. Like other models I made, this one also has night lights in the town. The color correction is present. About this Original The Max-Planck-Institut für Astronomie (Max Planck Institute for Astronomy, MPIA) is a research institute of the Max Planck Society (MPG). It is located in Heidelberg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany near the top of the Königstuhl, adjacent to the historic Landessternwarte Heidelberg-Königstuhl astronomical observatory. The institute primarily conducts basic research in the natural sciences in the field of astronomy. In addition to its own astronomical observations and astronomical research, the Institute is also actively involved in the development of observation instruments. The instruments or parts of them are manufactured in the institute’s own workshops. In 2009, “Haus der Astronomie,” a center for astronomy education and outreach was founded on the MPIA campus. The center is a partnership between the Max Planck Society, the Klaus Tschira Foundation, Heidelberg University and the City of Heidelberg. The center’s galaxy-shaped building, funded and constructed by the Klaus Tschira Foundation, was opened in December 2011. It is operated by the Max Planck Society, which has delegated the task to the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy.[12] Activities in Haus der Astronomie include public talks and guided tours, planetarium shows, workshops for school classes or kindergarten groups, the development of educational materials, pre-service training for teacher students at Heidelberg University and in-service training for German and international teachers.[12] Photogrammetry with earth2MSFS, altitude modeling with the sdk is not easy for me so here and there are “nasty” borders.. SCENERY Max Plank Observatory and “Haus der Astronomie” BUGS Due to buggy MSFS terrain editor the scenery are not perfectly align and match texture and color , if looked closely. Nothing I can do about it, I spent a lot of time to make it look as good as for me possible. Some surface and level changes can flicker and display artifacts which disappear or change as you get closer. That’s all on MSFS terrain editor – nothing to do with my scenery. It’s just buggy when levels change rapidly. INSTALLATION Unzip into Community folder. Robin Cap10 FAP-1313 Skin This Robin Cap10 skin is Inspired by the Portuguese Air Force Chipmunk Mk 20. Portuguese Air Force (FAP), received its first DHC-1 Chipmunk Mk. 20 in 1951, being delivered to the Military Aeronautical School in Sintra. It was the first of 76 machines of which 66 built were in Portugal. They serve to train Portuguese pilots for decades, the Chipmunks would fly with the Elementary Flying Training Squadron (Esquadra de Instrução Elementar de Pilotagem). As of 2018, Esquadra 802 still operates Chipmunks. This skin serves as a tribute for its remarkable longevity. U60 Big Creek with Imagery
One of my favorite strips in Idaho US. Terrain has been adjusted for the area and the runway profile. Trees, bushes and grass added for a more accurate feel. U60 nestles in a valley next to a small ridge in the backcountry of Idaho, USA. Getting in and out of U60 can be a challenge for some aircraft. The strip has had a complete makeover with terrain changes to the surrounding area plus the runway profile. All extra objects have been added for a more realistic representation of the real life airstrip. I have integrated the photo imagery in for more definition and a less saturated look.
