Situated in the midlands of Tasmania, Oatlands Airport is a fictional airport created to allow a fly into Hobart (YMHB) to the south or Launceston (YMLT) to the north. This airport has an ILS Approach on RWY07 (NAV 109.1) . This is a fictional General Aviation Airport. NOTE: This is my first attempt at creating an airport for MSFS 2020 and I am willing to share the entire project, techniques and information. The default scenery for Johnston Island lacks any resemblance to the defunct airfield that is likely still there. Johnston Atoll v1.0
Johnston Atoll (PJON) is 717 miles SW of Hawaii. This former military airport has been decommissioned since 2005 so it wasn’t in the database for FS2020. Look it up for details, but this island has been used for some really interesting uses over the years! This embellishment of the original airport can be used as an emergency airport or as a stopover point while hopping around the Pacific. Runway 23/05 is 9859′ (3005m) long and 164′ (50m) wide. The taxiways were widened to 131′ (40m) wide to accomodate the big airplanes; it has been tested with the 747, and should accomodate Supers when they enter the game. There is enough parking for 5 heavies, 8 large aircraft, 12 medium aircraft and 19 small aircraft, so bring your friends! 3 helipads were included for when helicopters join the party. An aircraft carrier is anchored offshore for a little extra fun. This is my first build, so constructive feedback is welcomed.
