Boracay (Caticlan) Airport – RPVE v1.0
Here is an updated rendition of Caticlan airport – RPVE which serves the popular tourist destination of Boracay. As of right now, the new terminal and expansion is still under construction but the new tarmac has been in use since 2017. I tried my best to get it as close to google maps as possible but due to the lack or updated aerial imagery of bing maps, things might not be exactly in the right place. I am not entirely sure about this but the parked a320’s may not show up if you do not have them in your community folder. *DISCLAIMER* – Scenery is loosely based on google maps satellite imagery and may not be 100% accurate to the real life location. – Scenery assets are made using default assets and is NOT handcrafted. – In any circumstances where I use a non-default asset, I do apologize and It would be great if the owner of said asset (if there is) let me know! – Feedback is greatly appreciated! A320neo AIR AFRIQUE Creation of this livery following the request of the community on the site. Air Afrique is first the name of a company founded in 1926 and which takes in 1928 the name of Transafricaine. At the initiative of the French state, the Régie Air Afrique was created on May 11, 1934, with the aim of rationalizing the operation of airlines in the French colonies of Africa. Its operation began on September 7, 1934 with the inauguration of a postal line between Algiers and Niamey on Bloch MB.120. This line was quickly extended to Fort-Lamy and the Congo and opened to passengers on April 27, 1935. It gradually absorbed the North African Airlines (LANA) created in 1934, the Transafricaine of 1928 and on 1 January 1937 the Régie Malgache created in 1934. When the Régie Air-Afrique ran out of Bloch MB.120s due to accidents, the French West African Military Aviation Authority made two of its four aircraft available between 1936 and 1937 to replace the ones that had crashed1. Put on standby at the beginning of the Second World War, it joined Air France in 1941. The most recent Air Afrique was formed on March 28, 1961 by an agreement between eleven French-speaking African states. This agreement resulted from the realization that none of these countries had the financial means to finance a national airline on their own, but also from the desire to create a major African airline. Each holding 6.54% of the capital2 , the eleven founding countries are: Cameroon; Central African Republic; Congo-Brazzaville; Ivory Coast; Dahomey; Gabon; Upper Volta; Mauritania; Niger; Senegal; Chad2. Sodetraf (majority UTA and Air France) holds 33% of the capital and a third has the balance. The company’s head office is symbolically located in Abidjan, and the first Managing Director (1961-1973) was Cheikh Boubacar Fall of Senegal (who died in 2006). The first flights took place on October 15, 1961 with a Super Constellation leased by Air France3. Air Afrique’s DC-8 at Le Bourget. The distribution of the capital will vary over time as the partners change. Togo joined the Group on January 1, 1968, taking a 6% stake in the capital from the shares held by Sodetraf3. Cameroon withdrew from the Group in September 1971 to create Cameroon Airlines, followed by Gabon in 1976. The Air Afrique network rapidly expanded to serve twenty-two African countries, Europe (Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Paris, Geneva, Zurich, Rome, Las Palmas) and New York City2. At the end of the 1970s, the fleet included three McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30s, seven Douglas DC-8s, one DC-8-63F freighter and three Caravelle3s. In the early 1980s, a fleet modernization program was launched with the introduction of the first Airbus A300s. In 2002, the fleet included Airbus A310s, A300s, A330s and DC-10s. Air Afrique was hard hit by the oil shocks and its last managing directors (Yves Roland-Billecart, Harry Tirvengadum – former CEO of Air Mauritius, Pape Thiam) were unable to restore financial equilibrium and were forced to suspend operations in November 2001. Declared bankrupt on 7 February 2002 after a slow agony, it was put into liquidation on 27 April 2002. Zagorje ob Savi is a town 40 km east of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. The Zagorje Aeroklub has a sloped grass runway over 400 meters long. The approach is a lot of fun due to the surrounding hills! Rwy 04/22 Elevation 1090 ft Currently there are only default FS buildings in the scenery. Maybe in a future version I could add self-built hangars… I have to study Blender first! Any help is welcome! Installation: – unzip the “gio-airport-zagorje” folder into your “Community” folder. Kaufbeuren Airbase (former ETSK) v0.9
This package contains: Adding missing military airbase Kaufbeuren (Fliegerhorst Kaufbeuren, former ICAO code: ETSK). There is almost no military traffic anymore (just some landing Eurofighters and some helicopters), but a flying club “Luftsportverein Kaufbeuren e.V.” is active there with gliders and some small piston aircrafts. Features: Flatten of some areas, some minor terraforming including sloped runway, rework of the vegetation within the airport area, realistic frequency, some details with default objects. Correct airport frequency 122.365 MHz. Made just with default sim objects, no custom objects yet. Installation: Copy both folders “kfdesign-etsk” and “kfdesign-etsk-ortho” to “MSFS-Directory/Community/”. After restart of MSFS, the scenery will show up in your sim. License: This package is free to use and for private and non-profitable purposes only. Notice: This is Version 0.9. Maybe there will be some future updates.
