Dog Creek, BC – XAH3 v1.0
Dog Creek was originally built as an RCAF training base in 1942 and operated as such until the early 60s at which time it was sold to a local company and used for private/corporate flying. It has since been closed and while not overgrown with grass, the pavement is very cracked and covered in moss making the 3 one-mile-long runways almost disappear into the ground when you’re down low. You won’t find any fuel in the tanks and stay out of the hangars as they aren’t safe anymore. Oh and the runway numbers you may find reference to are dated as variation has changed greatly since the 40s. 3D airport terrains – Finland v1.0
Adds 3D terrain for 174 airports / flightplaces / helicopter landing areas in Finland. Made specifically to get realistic 3D runways. Comes in 2 versions: -4m, has 4 meter “source” ground resolution, very good detail. -2m, has 2 meter resolution, ever so slightly better detail, but 3 times the file size. Actual resolution is in the 4 meter range, depending on many factors. Known issues: -EFJM: Uneven terrain (Error in source laser scan data) (TODO: Fix by manual smoothing) -EFHK: Taxiway holes where there should be bridges (TODO: Fix by hand) -When used with “DEM for Finland” areas covered by this mod don’t blend to the scenery. (TODO: Update “DEM for Finland”) Notes: Uses priority 30 to override “all” terraforming. UGAM – Ambrolauri Airport, Georgia v1.0
Ambrolauri Ambrolauri (Georgian: ამბროლაური) is a city in Georgia, located in the western part of the country, on both banks of the Rioni river, at the elevation of 550 m above sea level. It is a self-governing city. At the same time, the city serves as the seat of the Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti regional administration and the Ambrolauri Municipality. According to the 2014 census, the city had a population of 2,047. Its area is 1.6 km². Ambrolauri is first recorded in the 17th century as a place, where one of the palaces of the kings of Imereti was located. It acquired the city status in 1966 and became a self-governing city with its own municipal government in 2014. The Airport The airport is nestled into the Caucasus mountains right at the bank of the river Rioni. It has a single runway of 1100 m length and caters small propeller aeroplanes. The apron has space for two planes at a time and caters up to 50 passengers at one time. In the Simulator The virtual airport is very close to its real-world counterpart. All the buildings at and near the airport are modelled and the terminal even has an interior that can be seen from outside. The look and feel from a trip to the Racha region is definitely there. In real life, only small planes fly to the airport but that shouldn’t stop you to bring planes from the size of the Dash 8. Installation Installation is pretty straightforward. Just unzip and copy the folder into your Community folder. KUES – Waukesha County Airport Located in south-east Wisconsin, this busy regional airport services Waukesha and Milwaukee counties and is home to one of the few flight schools in the area. The airport offers access to a wide range of GA aircraft up to and including turboprops and private jets. It is subject to the usual harsh weather of Wisconsin which makes instrument arrivals all the more interesting. Features (0.1.1): – Changed some file pathing that could potentially cause issues – Fixed VASI/PAPI lights which now display correct glideslope values Features (0.1.0): – Completey rebuilt all runways, taxiways, and aprons to match real-world surfaces – Added/modified parts of the airfield and main ramp that were constructed after the Bing maps satellite photo was taken – Replaced ~90% of the buildings/hangars to better match the real airport – Handplaced all taxiway signs to match the airport diagram – Repainted all taxiway lines and added black backing where appropriate – Added appropriate approach, taxiway, runway, and ramp lighting – Removed random windsocks and added new windsock to the appropriate location – Resurfaced all service roads located within the airport grounds – Added parking lots for various locations – Added parking locations for the FBO, south tiedowns, southwest hangars, southeast hangars, east corporate hangars, and north ramp – Added the fuel farm near the south-west enterance – Many, many other things…. Known Issues: – Highly unlikely to work with AI traffic or ATC. – No custom models, all assets are from the base game. Would like to have added the terminal, control tower and some hangars but my Blender skills are beginner level at best.
