Plaza de la Revolucion, Havana v0.1
The Plaza de la Revolución, “Revolution Square”, is the 31st largest city square in the world, measuring 72,000 square meters and is located in Havana, Cuba. The square is notable as being where many political rallies take place and Fidel Castro and other political figures address Cubans. Fidel Castro addressed more than a million Cubans on many important occasions, such as 1 May and 26 July each year. Pope John Paul II, during his 1998 first visit by a Pope, and Pope Francis in 2015, held large Masses there during papal visits to Cuba. The square is dominated by the José Martí Memorial, which features a 109 m (358 ft) tall tower and an 18 m (59 ft) statue. The National Library, many government ministries, and other buildings are located in and around the Plaza. Opposite the memorial are the offices of the Ministries of the Interior and Communications, whose facades feature matching steel memorials of the two most important deceased heroes of the Cuban Revolution: Che Guevara, with the quotation “Hasta la Victoria Siempre” (Ever Onward to Victory) and Camilo Cienfuegos, with the quotation “Vas bien, Fidel” (You’re doing fine, Fidel). It is also the site of several cultural institutions. Construction of the square and the José Martí monument commenced during the Presidency of Fulgencio Batista. The square and the memorial were completed in 1959 (the year Fidel Castro came to power). It was originally called Plaza Cívica (Civic Square). After the Cuban Revolution (1959), it was renamed “Plaza de la Revolución” or “Revolution Square.” An elevator allows access the top of the memorial, at 109 m one of the tallest points in the city. Courchevel Soaring Task with built in Landing Challenge v1.0
LFKR to LFLJ Soaring Task Saint Remy De Maurienne to Courchevel With recent developements in both MSFS and the soaring community at large, as well as enthusiastic third party developers, it is now nearly possible to create a soaring task within MSFS. This is my humble attemt at doing so with the current technology known at this moment in time. I have to thank first of all f99mlu creator of BushMissionGen for his help in assisting me with getting some specific coding to allow some very unique features with the Bush Gen app. There are lots of cool features I was able to add, such as TTS (text to voice) alerts and hints as you fly through way points and other areas. There is also an altitude limit to level the flying field for all pilots so no one has an unfair advantage. You will be warned if you exceed this limit, and disqualified if you continue. How? try it and find out For those who want a more authentic soaring experience, and who have done this kind of thing before, I have taylored this around the use of Little Nav Map a flight planning utility which is very popular. It will provide an authentic and highly detailed moving map, and with the included plan file can be loaded parralell to the sim on the same or separate monitor or device. Now you will have a good way of tracking your progress with VFR landmarks to supplement the sim. You will need the Touching Cloud DG808s and Kinetic assistant to fly this task. The task is not too difficult for experienced flyers, and takes from 25-35 minutes to complete. I completed the task with much less wind in trials, but it was a challenge, I wanted this to be doable by anyone, so I set the wind at 19 knots. a bit less than the last task, just trying to see what makes it workable for most pilots. The end, landing at Courchevel is a challenge initself, while not an “official” landing challenge, see if you can skillfully land the DG and stop on the apron at the top. All the instructions you need are in included PDF file, and the mission start up, Read the mission notes and wait at the start (after you press the fly button) for a voice message that will get you set to go. Roatán Island Scenery & Airport Overhaul v1.0
Welcome to Roatán, Honduras: Your next virtual vacation paradise. I visited Roatán several years ago and was in awe of its clear waters, beautiful wildlife, and kind people…and the dense vegetation. When I visited Roatan in MSFS 2020, I discovered that due to bad satellite imagery, it had rendered approximately six trees on the island. Okay…that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but there weren’t many. That was when I decided that this incredible island needed a facelift.
