WWII Biak Island Airfields – Papua Province v1.0
Three separate WWII airfields. Mokmer is in use today, so I added the former taxiways but kept the concrete materials. Boroke and Sorido were retired after the war. Mokmer Airfield (WABB)- Still in use today as a civilian airport known as “Frans Kaisiepo International Airport”. Boroke Airfield (WBOR)- Built by the Japanese as a single taxiway with revetments off the western edge of the runway. Sorido Airfield (WSOR)- Built by the Japanese as a single runway surfaced with crushed coral. Enjoy!
