Spotted Bear USFS Airport 8U4, MT, USA v1.0

Spotted Bear USFS Airport is an airstrip in the Flathead National Forest and is run and maintained by the National Forest Service. It’s situated only 3 miles from the south shore of the Hungry Horse Reservoir and makes a good stop over point for venturing further South into the mountains. The Flathead River running along its eastern side makes a picturesque backdrop for flying in and out.
Beside the gras/turf runway, which is 3800 feet long, with a 1100 feet dog leg, you find a ranger station and a farm in the vicinity. Closest charted landing site is Meadow Creek 0S1 approx. 10 miles to the SE. The field elevation, the surrounding mountains and possibly treacherous weather can make operations in the area quite hazardous.
