Monterotondo Centro e Scalo v1.0

Monterotondo is an Italian town of 40,916 inhabitants in the metropolitan city of Rome in Lazio, and is among the cities decorated with the silver medal for military valor, awarded for the heroic resistance and sacrifices of its population during the Second World War. . It rises along the path of two of the oldest consular roads in Lazio, the Nomentana and the Salaria.
Monterotondo today is a medium-sized town in constant expansion. Perched on a hill, 165 m above sea level, overlooking the Tiber Valley, it enjoys a favorable climate for the cultivation of vineyards along the slopes of the hills that produce excellent wines.
Not far from the inhabited center, the Eretine countryside extends, forming a sort of green belt around the city. This is formed by the Macchia del Barco and the Macchia della Gattaceca, the countryside of Tor Mancina and that of Valle Ricca which, previously, represented an adequate and profitable source of livelihood for the peasant population of the city.
