Marie Galante, Guadeloupe TFFM v1.0

Marie-Galante aerodrome (AITA code: GBJ • ICAO code: TFFM) is the only aerodrome on the island of Marie-Galante in the Guadeloupe archipelago the runway is 1,240 m long for 30m wide. It was built in the 1950s at Pointe des Basses on the territory of the municipality of Grand-Bourg and provides air service traffic between the island of Marie-Galantaise and the Guadeloupe – Pôle Caraïbes airport in Pointe-à- Clown. The aerodrome is built on the seafront at the southern end of Marie-Galante, to offer an alternative to the only service to the island by boat, generally between Pointe-à-Pitre and Grand-Bourg.
Opened in 1955 1, the Marie-Galante aerodrome has a category D runway, extended in 1984 2, the second largest in Guadeloupe after that of Pointe-à-Pitre Guadeloupe – Pôle Caraïbes airport, capable of ” accommodate ATR 42 or Dash 8-Q400 bi-propeller aircraft.
