KGVL – Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport v1.0

Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport (KGVL) is located in northeast Georgia near the city of Gainesville. The airport is approximately 50 miles northeast of Atlanta. KGVL is a public airport with 2 runways. Runway 5/23 is the longest of the two, at 5500ft, and runway 5 is equipped with ILS. Runway 11/29 is 4000ft long, unlit, and without published instrument approach procedures. There are multiple hangars west of runway 5/23, including a unique looking FBO building. Another unique feature at KGVL is the glideslope antenna. Due to space constraints west of runway 5, KGVL employs the end-fire glideslope antenna to support vertical guidance in the ILS.
Our Enhancement
Note This airport is situated on a plateau with noticable drop off around the perimeter. Due to MSFS limitation, terrain tearing is observed at various locations on the airport. Most of the tearing have been resolved, and the runways appear to be smooth. Some tearing still exist on taxiways and parking area. Installation
