Based upon the idea and request of “JohnG,” I’m pleased to offer to the community a revamped Diego Garcia Airport for an ultimate military airport experience. Diego Garcia is a joint US/UK military base, although it mainly hosts US naval and air forces.
Considering its secretive military nature, it wasn’t easy to get detailed references of the airport other than scattered satellite and random old images on Google, most of which “JohnG” thankfully provided. Therefore, I tried to replicate the airport vicinity as much as possible, noticing that it is dynamic, and what you see today on the satellite might not be there the next day.
Note on the attached Ground Vehicles folder: attached is an additional folder “diego-garcia-vehicles” to place in the Community folder that will change the color of “all airports” ground service vehicles to army green. This is an optional folder and you do not have to install it if you do not wish to make such a change. I tried to make the modified vehicles specific to FJDG, but it’s beyond my knowledge and could not find any help in this regards.
Third-party Contents: This customized airport contains third-party static models that are permitted for personal free use only, including games. Any commercial re-use therefore is strictly prohibited without the consent of the original copyright holder.
For any future updates: First remove/delete the old folder and replace it with the new one.
