Historical Livery
In 1953, Portugal acquired 22 Piper Super Cub observation and liaison aircraft. They are put to use as artillery observation role under the Portuguese army. The process of the raising of the Army light aviation was however terminated in 1955, with its mission being assumed by the Air Force. The Super Cub’s was then transferred to the Air Force, where they formed an Army cooperation flight based at the Tancos Air Base. This specific aircraft is in Sintra Portuguese Airforce Museum.
