The city of Dortmund is a city at the eastern end of the Ruhr Metropolis. With around 600,000 inhabitants, Dortmund is the ninth largest city in Germany. In the past, Dortmund was known for its steel industry and breweries. Now the city is particularly well-known internationally through the Borussia Dortmund football club.
