LIRU - Roma Urbe Airport

Discover the Roma Urbe Airport (LIRU), the first modern civilian airport in Rome, inaugurated in 1928. Located along the Via Salaria, it served as a hub for seaplanes and was the home base for Italys first flag carrier in the 1930s. The airport has transitioned through various roles over the decades, from military use during WWII to functioning as an aeroclub and heliport today.
