Lakunai Airfield, also known as Rabaul Airport, is a historic aerodrome located in East New Britain, Papua New Guinea, at the foot of the Tavurvur volcano. Originally constructed during World War II as an emergency landing strip, the airfield saw extensive modifications by Japanese forces before being neutralized by Allied bombing in 1944. The airport ceased operations following its destruction in the 1994 volcanic eruption, leading to the construction of a new airport at Tokua. This add-on recreates the airfields historical context and features for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
