Prospect Creek Airport (PAPR)
Prospect Creek Airport was built to support construction of the Dalton Highway (Haul Road) and the construction camps and pump stations for the Alaska Pipeline. Commercial truck traffic delivering supplies and fuel to the North Slope oil fields accounts for the majority of the traffic, although tourist traffic, including motorcyclists and cyclists, has been increasing steadily since the highway was opened to the public in 1994.
