Calais city

Calais is a port city in northern France. Separated from the cliffs of Dover by the English Channel, it is the main crossing point for ferries between France and England. Its old town, Calais-Nord, occupies an artificial island surrounded by canals. Its imposing town hall has a 78-metre high belfry offering a view of the city, and a famous bronze statue by Rodin, Les Bourgeois de Calais.
