Japanese Captured F-4U Corsair "The Japanese captured 2 F-4U’s from forced landings late in WW2.  They were “recaptured” by the US in 1945 and had patches of fabric covering holes on their wings and body - indicating that the Japanese had repaired them and possibly flown one or both. They also appeared to have parts taken from wrecks, used to replace damaged areas / parts.  There was no evidence that they were ever used in combat by the Japanese - and were probably acquired too late for them to really impact the war."
