Al-Masjid an-Nabawi (The Prophetic Mosque) was built by the Islamic prophet Muhammad in the city of Medina, Saudi Arabia. It is the second largest mosque and second holiest site in Islam, after the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca. It is a major pilgrimage site.
