Pensacola Lighthouse, Florida, with rotating beacon and keepers' house
Pensacola Lighthouse This is another great witness of Aviation. It is located near Forrest Sherman Field, Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida, where the Blue Angels are stationed. How many takeoffs, landings and loops has the lighthouse seen? Built in 1859, the lighthouse is known to have been hit twice by lightning, and once by ducks! It is also famous for the ghosts that haunt the guardians' house. The lower third of the tower is painted white to stand out against the trees, and the upper part is painted black to stand out against a possibly cloudy sky. In these scenery, the light from the lighthouse is animated, and there is a green beacon pointing out into the bay to lead boats into the middle of the channel.
