Warfield-3 Ripa
Airport name: Field 3 Ripa. In order to strengthen a weak air defense, a decision was made in 1939 to establish standby airfields in Sweden. A total of 39 war airfields were created between 1939 and 1945. BAS 40 was the name of the system. The war airfields were in most cases created to be as difficult as possible to detect from the air. They would look like normal agricultural fields and the few buildings would look like ordinary barns. These were in several cases equipped with "hangar ports" to be able to perform easier field service and also hide the aircraft from the air.
