Erlangen is a city in Germany, in the region of Middle Franconia, located in the north of the Free State of Bavaria, about twenty kilometers northwest of Nuremberg. With over 103,000 inhabitants, it is the smallest of Bavaria's eight major cities, and one of the smallest in Germany.
