Klagenfurt (in Slovenian Celovec ob Vrbskem jezeru) is the capital of the Land of Carinthia, Austria, on the Glan river. In 1986, the city won the Europe Prize, jointly with Arnhem, in the Netherlands1. As of January 1, 2020, the city's population was 101,303. Located on the shores of Lake Wörthersee, the warmest alpine lake in Europe, Klagenfurt am Wörthersee is a popular tourist destination, with mountains both north and south of the city.
