Nice

Nice is the capital of the Alpes-Maritimes department on the Côte d'Azur. It is located on the pebble shoreline of the Baie des Anges. Founded by the Greeks and then prized by the European elite in the 19th century, the city has long attracted the attention of artists. The Henri Matisse museum is dedicated to the artistic journey of the painter from Nice. The Marc Chagall Museum houses some of the greatest religious works by the artist to whom it owes its name.
