Niterói is a city in Brazil, in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The population is about 470,000 inhabitants and it occupies an area of 129 km2. The city is located on the east side of the entrance to Guanabara Bay, facing Rio de Janeiro, 13 km away, to which it is connected by the Rio-Niterói bridge and a catamaran service.
