Walkway Over the Hudson NY USA

This railroad bridge was constructed in 1888 across the Hudson river at Poughkeepsie, New York. It had a third truss added in the center in 1909 to strengthen it. After a fire on the tracks in 1974, the bridge was abandoned and its fate uncertain until 2009. In 2009 it received a flat deck and became the longest pedestrian bridge in the world. Today it welcomes over 600,000 visitors a year.
