Saint-Tropez Full

Saint-Tropez is a French commune located in the Var department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, capital of the canton of Saint-Tropez. From the corsair city dominated by its 16th century citadel to the fishing village at the start of the 20th century, the first town liberated during the landings in Provence became, from the 1950s, an internationally known seaside resort on the Var Côte d'Azur thanks to the craze of New Wave artists, then yéyés and finally, a resort for the European and American jet set as well as tourists in search of Provençal authenticity or celebrities.
