Voortrekker Monument, South Africa

The Voortrekker Monument, located in Pretoria, pays homage to the Boer pioneers who left Cape Colony in 1835-1838 to settle in the interior of South Africa. This great migration was called "Grand Trek". It is at the origin of the creation of the Boer republics of Transvaal and the Free State of Orange.
