Angers (château, centre ville)

Angers is a city in western France, located next to Maine, on the outskirts of the Loire Valley. Medieval seat of the Plantagenet dynasty, it has an old town with half-timbered houses, such as the superb Adam's house (built around 1500). Saint-Maurice Cathedral, on the central Place Sainte-Croix, has two 75-meter-high towers and magnificent pink stained glass windows. Newer urban areas are seeing a growing café culture.
