Rio Airways was a regional passenger airline headquartered in Killeen, Texas, United States, which was operational from 1967 to 1987. Rio Airways was started by a group and was based in Corpus Christi, Texas, in 1970/71. Rio Airways started service with 3 BE-99 Aircraft and served McAllen, Brownsville, Corpus Christi, Houston, and San Antonio. It was purchased by Hood Airlines in 1971 owned by the Connell's and that is when they changed their name to Rio Airways, doing away with Hood Airlines, which was based in Killeen.
