Douglas DC-4 Swiss Air Lines HB-ILI
The Douglas DC-4 Swiss Air Lines HB-ILI is a detailed model of the historic aircraft that was delivered to Swissair in 1947. Known as "Basel," it was the first DC-4 to operate the transatlantic route from Geneva to New York. This aircraft was in service until 1958, after which it was sold to Syrianair and eventually lost in a ditching incident in Congo in 1960. The model is based on a paintkit by Flight Replicas and faithfully represents this significant piece of aviation history.
