Barrage de Jons ( 1937 )

The Barrage de Jons, built between 1934 and 1937, is a hydraulic structure located on the Rhône River at the Miribel Canal entrance. Its primary role is to manage the flow between the Miribel and Jonage Canals, enhancing the output of the Cusset hydroelectric power station. The dam, designed by architects Robert Giroud and Antonin Chomel, also includes underground turbines installed in 1966 for electricity generation and maintaining consistent flow to the Miribel Canal.
